Event Details

For many in our area, one unexpected financial setback can make the difference when it comes to being able to afford their utility payments. These families and individuals may have to choose between buying groceries or prescriptions, or keeping the lights and heat on in their homes.

The Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth fundraising campaign raises money and awareness for those in our community who are in need of utility assistance. Funds are managed by the non-profit organization, Common Fund of the Heartland.

What is it?

Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth is a timed 5K and untimed, family-friendly walk.

Why do we do it?

Proceeds from the run and walk go to local energy assistance programs to help seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families pay their utility bills. The event is held in the cold winter months to bring attention to those who struggle to keep the lights on and heat their homes.

Registration is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Event begins at 9 a.m.
