Energy Gel

Makes about 10oz.

  • 8oz corn syrup
  • 1 pack instant sugar free pudding
  • 3/4 tsp Morton Lite salt.
  • Add all ngredients in a bowl and mix. Pour into plastic container to store. You do not need to chill to store. I use the Nashbar 6oz gel flask. Gu or Hammer Gel flask will work too.
 

Sports Drink Powder

Makes enough for one gallon of sports drink. Special thanks to Jean Ackerman of the ORC Ladies Group for this recipe.
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tsp Morton Lite salt
  • 2 packs of Kool-Aid For sweeter taste use sugar free
  • 1 gallon water
  • Add all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix. Store in a dry place.

  • 20oz bottle 3.4 TBSP
  • 24oz bottle 4 TBSP

Note: do not substitute regular salt for the Morton Lite salt. It must be used to get the right electrolyte levels. This also is higher in potassium to help prevent cramps.
