Special thanks to Jean Ackerman for sending this to the Ladies group e-mail

For one gallon of sports drink powder.

1 1/4 cup sugar
1.5 tsp Morton Lite salt
2 packs of Kool-Aid For sweeter taste use sugar free
1 gallon water

Add all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix. Store in a dry place.

For single servings mix the follow amounts of mix..

16oz bottle 2.75TBSP
20oz bottle 3.4TBSP
24oz bottle 4TBSP

Note do not subsitute regular salt for the Morton Lite salt. It must be used to get the right electrolyte levels. This also is higher in potassium to help prevent cramps.

For about 10 oz of energy gel.

8oz corn syrup
1 pack instant sugar free pudding
3/4 tsp Morton Lite salt.

Add all ngredients in a bowl and mix. Pour into plastic container to store. You do not need chill to store. I use the Nashbar 6oz gel flask. Gu or Hammer Gel flask will work too.

Both of these recipes allow you to choose flavors not available on the market.
