Supporting Omaha's Running & Walking Community Since 1970
About Us

The Omaha Running Club is over 700 members strong and has been supporting the Omaha running and walking communities since the early 1970's. The roots of this club were the Elmwood Park Track Club, The Omaha University Track Club and The Plains Track Club. These early formations of organized running in Omaha evolved into what is known today as the Omaha Running Club. Extensive history of the club has been documented by ORC Historian Lou Soukup and can be found on the history section of this site.

About

For many years, the Omaha Running Club has served as the voice for Omaha Area Runners, Joggers and Walkers and is a dues-paying member of the Road Runners Club of America. The ORC also supports local area events through renting and service for items such as finish lines, timing clocks, event scoring, data entry, online race registration, and event volunteers. Members of this club are entitled to a number of benefits such as area store discounts, discounted race entry fees, a free member race annually, access to the newsletter, and others.  Membership also assures that someone is looking out for the interests of runners and walkers in local, state and national issues. Membership allows you to keep up to date with the Omaha running community and informs you of upcoming races which our club and other organizations are conducting.
